Weecher Cup Round 5

The 5th round of the Weecher cup was sailed in strong 18mph gusty North Westerly Winds. The entry was down on previous races with many skippers traveling to the Wirral to watch the IOM nationals. The wind direction made it possible to set a good triangular course  Several skippers started sailing in B rig but everyone was sailing in C rig after 2 races.

Weecher Cup Round 4
The fourth round of the Weecher cup was sailed on a pleasant spring day with 6mph winds starting out from Northwest. As the day went on the winds moved to the North, dropped in strength and became more flukey. Norman showed us the way and won convincingly but a notable mention must go to Leo who won saw the wind shifts before everyone else and doggedly sailed to his first official win in the last race of the day. Once again Dave (total recall) Lowe was the officer of the day and ensured that the races were conducted in a fair and enjoyable manner.

Weecher Cup Round 3

The Third round of the Weecher cup took place on Sunday the 21st of March 2010. 12 boats took place in 12mph winds from the Northwest. The majority of the boats started to race in top suit but soon opted to change down to middle suite as the wind strengthened.  The skippers took it in turns to; start, finish, and Umpire the races until these tasks were expertly taken over by Dave Lowe who retired from racing after equipment failure.

Weecher Cup Round 1

The first round of the Weecher cup was sailed in varying winds averaging 8mph from the SW. 16 races were held in total. There was a welcome break for lunch at 12:30 and racing was completed by 3pm. After lunch the wind increased and most skippers opted to change down to B rig. Many thanks for all who helped run this event including; Steve and Stuart for starting finishing and umpiring  and Frances for providing lunch and refreshments
